Seattle Public Schools serves approximately 50,000 students at 106 schools. Students are assigned to their attendance area elementary, middle or high school based on their address. Seattle Public Schools is seeking a modern, configurable student assignment system that can support the district’s assignment model, including address-based school assignments, school choice, specialized programs, service pathways, and assignment changes throughout a student’s enrollment. The district’s goal is to replace its aging in-house system with a commercially supported solution that requires minimal customization, integrates with existing district systems, provides robust administrative and data management capabilities, supports communication with families, and offers reliable customer support. SPS is particularly interested in a solution that can allow SPS staff to configure assignment procedures and business processes, provide easy access to data via both configurable reporting and exports, and deliver scalable functionality for a large urban school district with unique assignment rules and program
structures.
