Multiple proposals may be selected to ensure that resources support students spanning K-12.
The district is seeking an evidence-based, researched, and reviewed program (curriculum and instructional materials) for teachers to facilitate the systemic development of social and emotional learning skills for students, in alignment with the SEL competencies as described by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL). Virtual Schooling Platform
Grade Level: K-12
Gardner Edgerton Unified School District 231, enrolling nearly 6,000 students across PreK-12, is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for a virtual schooling platform. This platform should provide dynamic options for all types of K-12 learners, and its instructional design methodology should be evidence-based.
The virtual schooling platform shall serve multiple purposes. First, it shall provide an option for students and families looking to partner with a local school district. USD 231 recognizes that families may face unique circumstances that require an option beyond the typical brick-and-mortar classroom setting. For some students, a partnership with a virtual schooling platform may provide additional choices and opportunities for success.
Second, a virtual schooling platform shall help re-engage and attract former USD 231 families who have left the district. And finally, the virtual schooling platform shall expand the district’s course catalogue and learning options. With the addition of a virtual schooling platform, USD 231 will continue to expand its alternative schooling options for students and families both within the Gardner Edgerton School District and across the greater state of Kansas.
