The Des Moines Public School District, serving approximately 31,000 students, is seeking proposals from interested firms to provide the highest-quality K-5 General Music Materials and related services.

The Des Moines Public School District is seeking proposals for traditional and non-traditional materials, and professional learning opportunities to support the teaching Kindergarten - 5th grade general music. We are interested in innovative, flexible resources that expose students to a wide range of music literary, games and song tales, Orff orchestrations, and cultural music. They should enhance teacher autonomy in instructional design, and support the development of critical thinking, notation reading, singing, and playing skills. Additionally, we are committed to ensuring that these resources and professional learning opportunities are inclusive and supportive of all students, particularly multilingual learners and students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). We seek proposals that include strategies and materials to increase access and equity for these student populations, fostering a learning environment that values diversity and promotes success for all.
